Meet our VISTA Team
Eleanor Shaul, VISTA
Volunteer Coordinator and EMR Specialist Summer Associate Eleanor Shaul is the youngest of four and is from the Houston area. She is currently a Senior at the University of Texas in Austin and is majoring in Public Health. Eleanor is working closely with Laura Hurst, Director of Volunteers on projects involving EMR and Volgistics. During her free time she enjoys going to hockey games, searching for interesting artwork around Austin and spending time with her cat, Pounce de Leon. We asked Eleanor what she hopes to get out of her time here at the clinic and this is what she had to say. “During my time at the clinic this summer, I hope to learn more about how the clinic functions outside of Tuesday and Thursday evenings when I am usually here. I also hope to create some training guides, set up a new volunteer-tracking system, and revamp our name tags. I think my main goal is just to help out where I am needed and learn as much as I can along the way.” Mariana Ramirez, Summer VISTA

We asked Mariana what she hopes to get out of her time here at the clinic she said that she hopes to learn more about VHC and it’s role in the community, learn more about the staff/volunteers, grow professionally and personally as well as help the clinic accomplish it’s goals.
