Volunteer Healthcare Clinic
Volunteer Opportunities
Our name says it all ~ the Volunteer Healthcare Clinic was created by volunteers and they continue to be the heart of our organization. It is through the generosity of our volunteers who give their time, talent and expertise, that we have been able to provide high quality health care to some of Austin's most vulnerable residents for over 40 years.
There are many volunteer opportunities available, especially for health care professionals, and we are always looking to expand our volunteer community. There are ongoing opportunities for individuals with the following expertise / training:
- Physicians (especially Family Practice, Podiatrists and Ophthalmologists)
- Nurses
- Pharmacists
- Phlebotomists and Medical Lab Technicians
- Dietitians (RD and CDE’s)
- Spanish Interpreters / Translators
- Registrars and General Office Support
- Clerical Assistance (daytime)
- Fundraising / PR / Special Projects
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or would like more information, please contact our Program Director, Marci Roe, at 512-459-6002, ext. 205.
New volunteer orientations are generally held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm unless otherwise noted. This is subject to change due to holidays and/or capacity limits so be sure to call first. As always, please confirm your attendance with the Program Director.
Due to the overwhelmingly positive response from the community, we are no longer accepting office (general office / registrar / clerical support) and pharmacy volunteer applications (unless you are a registered Pharmacist). Thank you so much for your interest - please feel free to check back with us in April, 2010.
Please note that all volunteers are asked to complete a Volunteer Application, which you can download here ( Word Document ) and fax to us at 512-459-3002. Thank you so much for your interest and we hope to hear from you soon!
