By providing in-depth laboratory testing for Clinic patients, assistance through the Mobile Mammography Program and call center support services, Seton Family of Hospitals is an integral partner of the Clinic and maintains a permanent representative seat on its Board of Directors.
Imaging services at the Clinic are provided through the generosity of Austin Radiological Association. With its many locations throughout Travis County, patients are able to quickly and easily attain the radiological services necessary for their care.
A project of the Travis County Medical Society, Project Access provides all specialty care services for Clinic patients by arranging appointments at participating private physician's offices.
Through this partnership, Clinic patients are able to receive much needed and often, otherwise unavailable dental care. Also, Theo the Bear makes an annual appearance at Healthy Kids Day to provide dental hygiene products and educational materials.
Provides the Clinic's patient population with a vision exam and eye glass voucher at participating optometrist's offices through the CommUnityCare Vision program, funded by the St. David's Foundation Community Fund. CommUnityCare also works with the patients enrolled in the Clinic's Chronic Disease Management program to attain a permanent medical home at one of their 20-plus FQHC sites. This includes processing their eligibility and ongoing medical appointments.
TCMA provides assistance throughout the year, including special events, projects and providing bike helmets, healthy snacks and school supplies at Healthy Kids Day. In addition, they annually adopt 5 Clinic families at Christmas time, providing gifts for every member of the family and gift cards to purchase their holiday meals.
Through funding from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, the Austin Care Van provides vaccinations at the Clinic during its annual Healthy Kids Day in August.
A project of both Seton Family of Hospitals and the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Austin; qualifying women are provided screening mammograms and follow-up services if needed.
PBT regularly performs pre- arranged vision screenings for Clinic patients and at special events held at the Clinic.
Twice a year, the Sai Center of Austin and the Clinic host a Women's Wellness Day clinic. Over 55 women are scheduled per clinic where they receive a pap smear, breast exam, cholesterol and glucose screenings and a pampering package. In addition, the Sai Center Austin recently made sizeable monetary donations to allow the Clinic to purchase an AED machine and new EKG machine.
While the Volunteer Healthcare Clinic is a 'free' clinic, the costs associated with operating the Clinic are very real.
